
Basically, NeuroSystems' Procedural Organic Modeling Technology is a complex mathematical process able to build detailled meshes of 3D organic shapes from any unorganized point lists / point clouds.
Each of those points contains numerous local data defining its role and weight in the global topology of the shape.
It can work from a few linked points only (e.g. NeuroSystems' Virtual Mammoplasty application SIMPLANT) or from thousands of linked / unlinked points (e.g. SUBSTANCE).
As an example, the picture below shows SIMPLANT's internal skeleton from which the patient torso is controled.
Each group of colored spheres represents a specific area. Here's the result of the 3D model after processing by the Procedural Organic Modeling Engine:
